Event Round Details

Description

The first round is a paper based problem solving challenge consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions. Participants will be tested on number system conversions (binary, octal, decimal, and hexadecimal), logic gates and truth tables, Boolean expression simplification, and output prediction for small digital circuits. Each question carries equal marks and there is no negative marking in this round.

Description

Participants step into a beginner friendly circuit simulation task. Using tools like Logisim or CircuitVerse, teams will be required to design and test two simple digital circuits. The simulator interface will be explained before the round begins, ensuring that no prior experience is necessary. While organizers may assist with the tool's operation, the logical design must be done entirely by the teams.

Rules
  • To qualify, each circuit must be functional and validated using truth tables or test cases.
Description

The final round challenges participants with a reverse engineering problem. Teams will be presented with a mystery "black box" circuit that displays only its inputs and outputs. Using the provided tools such as multimeters, logic probes, switches, LEDs, and oscilloscopes participants must deduce the internal design by applying test inputs and noting outputs and recreate the circuit diagram.

Rules
  • Judgement will be based on correctness of circuit output, accuracy of logical design, time taken, reasoning and explanation.
  • Teams that use fewer clues will gain advantage in scoring.
  • Clues can be requested, but each clue will reduce the overall score.
