Woven Wonders is a two-round creative structural challenge that combines technical knowledge with innovative thinking. Teams will first compete in a technical quiz, followed by a hands-on design challenge.

Event Round Details

Description

Teams will participate in a technical quiz consisting of questions related to Civil Engineering and basic structural concepts. Based on their performance in the quiz, teams will qualify for the second round.

Rules
  • Each team shall consist of a maximum of 3 members.
  • All team members must participate as a single team.
  • The quiz will be conducted within the specified time limit.
  • No external reference materials or electronic devices will be permitted during the quiz.
  • Team members may discuss the questions themselves.
  • Answers submitted after the specified time will not be considered.
  • Any form of unfair practice may result in disqualification.
  • The decision of the organizers regarding the quiz will be final.
  • The teams qualifying for Round 2 will be decided based on their Round 1 scores.
Description

The main structural creativity challenge. Each team will be provided with board, thread and push pins. Participants must strategically place the pins and weave the thread between them to create a visually appealing structure within the allotted time. The final structure will be evaluated based on creativity, imagination and efficient utilization of materials.

Rules
  • Each team shall consist of a maximum of 3 members.
  • Each team will initially be allotted a fixed number of push pins and thread.
  • Participants may request additional pins if required, subject to point deductions.
  • The thread must be used to connect the pins and form the intended structure.
  • Only the materials provided by the organizers must be used.
  • The structure must be completed within the allotted time.
  • Participants must not receive or use external materials during the round.
  • Any modification after the submission time will not be permitted.
  • The judging will be based on creativity, design, intricacy, and effective use of pins and thread.
  • The decision of the judges will be final.
Tie Breaker

If two or more teams receive the same score, the team that has used fewer pins will be given preference and the judges will select the winner based on the creativity and intricacy of the design.
